January 2010

2010 is off to a very good start.  Our 1st thirty days of the year will yield three new homes set and site construction beginning to make three more new home owners in Sussex County.  Milton, Lewes, and Bethany beach will all have a new Beracah Home by Henlopen Homes.  All three homeowners are excited and looking forward to being in their homes just in time for spring planting.

 

First Quarter 2009

Lewes DE - March 3, 2009 - As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2009, we are happy to report that we have two completed homes with Certificate of Occupancy this year already. As these new homeowners settle in we wish them all the best in their new homes. Congratulations to the Edwards and Topper families!

We have three homes on sites in various states of construction and we are pushing to complete them quickly in spite of our big snow storm this week. Two of these homes are featured on our website with weekly updates on their progress.

We also have three new homes in the factory that will be set soon with exciting features and floorplans we can't wait to tell you about.

Several of our homeowners are celebrating their one year anniversary's in their Henlopen Homes, and thus, their one year punch lists. We've just completed the one year punch list for the Martin's home. "The first year has gone really fast. We still love our home. We probably would have totally missed our one year warrantee walk-thru if Pam hadn't called and written to remind us. With so few items to report it hardly seemed important. The few things we did report Henlopen Homes came right out and fixed and we couldn't be happier." Brian Martin, Owner of 10 Balsa Street.

2009 is off to a GREAT Start

Georgetown DE - January 26, 2009 - We're happy to announce our first completed home of 2009 will be receiving Certificate of Occupancy this week.

"Just the final touches are being done at this point including railings, and clean-up inside and out. We are excited to see this family in their new home this week." said Anthony Savini, Site Superintendent.

This home is a Royal Oak floorplan with a five course foundation. Modifications included expanding the living room, and moving some doors and windows. By deleting the front dormers and adding a little square footage these thrifty folks maximized sq. footage without spending a lot more money.

We truly enjoyed receiving all of your well wishes and generous gifts this season. Knowing our customers are happy in their homes is what keeps us excited about designing and building new homes.

Exciting News at Sales Meeting

Milford DE - December 17, 2008 - In a company meeting today Beracah announced 2008 sales numbers and revealed despite the current economy, Beracah, and the team of preferred builders were blessed with another outstanding year.

"We are looking forward to 2009 as there are homes currently in production and more in early process, giving us an indication that it will be another strong year" said Roger Collison (Vice President of Beracah Homes).

More good news Wednesday included new and improved standard lighting. More standard options for finishes of lighting and plumbing fixtures were also unveiled. In addition, an exciting new line of bathroom counter/sink tops are also now being offered as a standard option.

Trent Collins Completes Green Advantage Certification

Greenwood, DE - December 16 2008 - Trent Collins, owner of Henlopen Homes and one of Beracah Homes preferred builders, recently completed Green Advantage certification at a 2 day workshop held at the Beracah plant in Greenwood.

David Johnston, author of Green from the Ground Up, conducted the workshop, and represented the 3rd party certification agency Green Advantage®. Green Advantage® is the result of collaboration between the Nature Conservancy, Science Applications International Corporation, the University of Florida, and is an environmental certification for building-related practitioners (primarily contractors), subcontractors and trades people. As the green building sector is growing at a rapid pace, certification by Green Advantage® demonstrates a strong commitment by Beracah and Henlopen Homes towards more energy efficient & sustainably built homes.

Energy efficiency, conservation of natural resources and indoor air quality are the three fundamental principles that revolve around green building. Green building encompasses every part of construction, not just the house itself but everything around it. This "oneness" creates a relationship with a house and its occupants to the world around them. Put simply, green building is a process of design and construction that fosters the conservation of energy and other natural resources and promotes a healthy environment. Recently Beracah Homes completed their first of many Energy Star Certified homes. With Energy Star plant certification occurring within the next few months, green building is a direction Beracah is heading full-on.
