On January 12th we set our first home of 2009 on its foundation. Located in Federalsburg, Maryland, this home is a custom ranch floorplan with a cape package.

It has two 6’ dormers on the front of the home and a 12’ shed dormer off the back. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, two baths, and plenty of living space. Also included though, is an unfinished 9/12 cape living package upstairs. This upstairs has the potential for two more bedrooms, one more bathroom and a sitting/office area when finished. An unfinished cape package is a great way to cut initial cost but leave room for expansion later. This is a great thing for, say, a young couple planning to have kids in the future.

We finished this build and received our CO on 2/20/09; it only took 39 days on site to finish house. That is 39 full days not working days, so as you can see building a rather large custom home can be done quickly with Henlopen Homes.

Other features of this home include a gable style front porch, and bisque colored cabinets. “A nice features of this home is the stairs being located on the back of the home.” said Pam Parker, Sales and Service for Henlopen Homes, “I really like what it does to the floorplan having them out of a foyer area.”
